Rust-eating cells are likely to enjoy plentiful nutrients in patches where [thrive:compound type="iron"][/thrive:compound] is abundant.

The [thrive:compound type="ammonia"][/thrive:compound] produced by [b]Nitrogenase[/b] contributes towards stored resources for reproduction. Cells with [b]Nitrogenase[/b] therefore need only find [thrive:compound type="phosphates"][/thrive:compound] from the environment to reproduce at a faster rate than the base rate (the base rate is zero if passive reproduction progress is disabled in options for the current game). A good strategy is seeking out [thrive:compound type="phosphates"][/thrive:compound] chunks to engulf or stay close to.

Since [b]Anaerobic Nitrogen Fixation[/b] consumes [thrive:compound type="atp"][/thrive:compound], you should have excess [thrive:compound type="atp"][/thrive:compound] available before adding this organelle to your cell. The small amount of [b]Glycolysis[/b] performed by [b]Nitrogenase[/b] is not enough to offset its own osmoregulation cost.
