If the player cell has [b]Signaling Agents[/b], the player can press a hotkey (defaults to [b]V[/b]) to open the signaling command panel and issue a command to all members of their species. Each command persists until a new command is chosen. The options are:

[ul]No command.
Move to me. Non-player cells of the player's species swarm the player cell.
Follow me. Non-player cells of the player's species move towards the player cell, but maintain some distance.
Flee from me. Non-player cells of the player's species move away from the player cell.
Become aggressive. Non-player cells of the player's species become significantly more likely to attack and chase other cells around them.[/ul]

At the time of writing, non-player cells with [b]Signaling Agents[/b] don't use them.

The gameplay of the multicellular stage feels a lot like the Microbe Stage. Gameplay continues on the 2D plane with other cells, but the difference is that the player now controls a growing colony. The difference from the end of microbe stage is that the colony can no longer be disbanded, instead it acts like a permanently stuck together, singular organism. The microbe environment is still used and the player can interact with microbes.

In the editor, the player can now create and edit cell types in addition to making changes to the structure and organelles of those cells. Any change made to a cell type is automatically applied to all cells of that type. Using different cell types the player will be able to specialize different cells in his colony towards different functions. As specialized cells receive a bonus to effectiveness, and this will be further enhanced through adjacency of cells of the same type, this gives them a big advantage over unicellular organisms.

At the end of the stage the player controls a large colony of cells that can dominate the microscopic world, and then take a leap to grow even bigger and become a macroscopic creature.

Игровой процесс на многоклеточной стадии ощущается похожим на Стадию Микроба. Игровой процесс продолжается в 2D-плоскости с другими клетками, но разница в том, что теперь игрок управляет растущей колонией. Отличие от конца стадии микробов заключается в том, что колонию больше нельзя распустить, она действует как единый организм, который постоянно находится в связанном состоянии. Окружение микробов по-прежнему используется, и игрок может взаимодействовать с микробами.

В редакторе игрок теперь может создавать и редактировать типы клеток, а также вносить изменения в их структуру и органеллы. Любое изменение, внесённое в тип клетки, автоматически применяется ко всем клеткам этого типа. Используя разные типы клеток, игрок сможет специализировать клетки своей колонии для выполнения различных функций. Поскольку специализированные клетки получают бонус к эффективности, который дополнительно усиливается за счет соседства клеток одного типа, это дает ему большое преимущество перед одноклеточными организмами.

В конце этапа игрок управляет большой колонией клеток, которые могут доминировать в микроскопическом мире, а затем совершить скачок, чтобы вырасти ещё больше и стать макроскопическим существом.
