In the real world [b]Vacuoles[/b] may take on a myriad of shapes and sizes depending on the needs of the cell they are found within, and even may have certain functions depending on the cell type. For example, in plant cells, a [b]Vacuole[/b] is typically the largest organelle, and is used both for storage and as a pressure regulator, keeping the water within the plant cell in motion so that its able to hold its form.

This in turn allows a creature to respond to external stimuli, such as a sudden increase in temperature, or being scratched, or even a bed smell hitting some sensory cells.
