S'han esdevingut milions d'anys, eons sencers, d'activitat volcànica i d'impactes de meteorits. Aquesta activitat ha causat l'aparició d'un fenomen inaudit a l'univers.

La vida.

A les profunditats dels mars i oceans, són a punt d'aparèixer eixams de Microbis, sopes tupides d'organismes vius. De moment, però, en tot el planeta, només hi ha un sol organisme, una petita cèl·lula formada per una fina Membrana plena de Citoplasma i Material Genètic. Aquest primer organisme serà conegut com a 'darrer avantpassat universal comú'. Ets a punt de prendre el control d'aquesta minúscula cèl·lula, per tal de guiar-ne les accions i aconseguir que es pugui reproduir.

Per tal de sobreviure en aquest planeta hostil, hauràs d'arreplegar tots els compostos amb contingut nutritiu que puguis trobar. Al llarg de les diverses generacions del procés evolutiu, hauràs d'evolucionar per competir contra altres espècies pels nínxols de la cadena tròfica. Totes aquestes espècies hauran evolucionat a partir del darrer avantpassat universal comú.

Probably the most mobile form of autotrophy, [i]Thermosynthesis[/i] requires almost constant movement. You need to go from colder areas to hotter ones and back again. After the cell's temperature has stopped increasing, [thrive:compound type="atp"][/thrive:compound] production drops to zero. It is best to activate [i]thermal vision[/i] to see the hot and cold areas around your cell, to most effectively steer through them. Thermosynthase is much more effective in much hotter patches, and so is best used in the Volcanic Vents.

Because [b]Thermosynthase's[/b] [thrive:compound type="atp"][/thrive:compound] production will stop frequently, it is important to have a second energy source, or else you will take continual damage from lack of [thrive:compound type="atp"][/thrive:compound].

More efficient still is the [b][color=#3796e1][url=thriveopedia:thermoplast]Thermoplast[/url][/color][/b], available once a cell evolves a [b][color=#3796e1][url=thriveopedia:nucleus]Nucleus[/url][/color][/b]. Like all prokaryotic organelles with eukaryotic counterparts, we recommend replacing [b]Thermosynthase[/b] with [b][color=#3796e1][url=thriveopedia:thermoplast]Thermoplasts[/url][/color][/b] when possible.
La termosintasa és una proteïna que fa servir la convecció tèrmica per canviar la seva forma, permetent-li plegar-se i adherir-se a l'ADP quan és exposada a la temperature, tot seguit desplegar-se i reciclar-la en ATP quan s'exposa a temperatures més baixes en un procés anomenat termosíntesi.
