A [color=#3796e1][url=https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vacuole][b]Vacuole[/b][/url][/color] is an organelle with a tough membrane, most of the time containing a water solution used to store inorganic or organic compounds, and sometimes may be used to store whole solids. In the real world [b]Vacuoles[/b] may take on a myriad of shapes and sizes depending on the needs of the cell they are found within, and even may have certain functions depending on the cell type. For example, in plant cells, a [b]Vacuole[/b] is typically the largest organelle, and is used both for storage and as a pressure regulator, keeping the water within the plant cell in motion so that its able to hold its form.

These are all the stages in the game. In total, there are 9 stages, each with its own slightly different gameplay.

As you progress through Thrive, you will transition through the various stages, ultimately allowing you to reach ascension.

You start the game as a single celled organism, later developing organs and tissues, then becoming sapient and building a society leading to a conquest of space.

Elke keer dat jij voortplant, jij kan organellen in jouw cel toevoegen, bewegen, aanpassen of verwijderen met de microbenbewerker. Bijna al deze acties kosten mutatiepunten. Organellen zijn geregeld in een zeshoekig raster, die een doorlopende vorm vormen die gewikkeld zijn door het celmembraan, en elke organel heeft een karakteristieke zeshoekige voetafdruk. Externe organellen hechten zichzelf aan de membraans buitenkant, dus voor veel van hen, oriëntatie of plaatsing maakt wel uit.

Tijdens dat je jouw cel bewerkt zullen andere soorten hun organelopmaak veranderen. Ze hebben toegang tot dezelfde krachten en vaardigheden.

Each generation, you have 100 mutation points (MP) to spend, and each change (or mutation) will cost a certain amount of that MP. Adding and removing organelles costs MP. However, removing organelles that were placed in the current Editor session refunds MP for that organelle. You can move (and rotate) or remove an organelle by right-clicking on it and selecting from the pop-up menu.

The main ways that cells gain energy are by feeding on the environment around them - which is called [b]autotrophy[/b] - and feeding on other cells or parts from dead cells - which is called [b]heterotrophy[/b]. Both are important parts of the [b]food chain[/b].

[b]Cellulose[/b] and [b]chitin[/b] cell walls can't be digested without having the enzymes that can break them down first. These enzymes are produced by [color=#3796e1][url=thriveopedia:lysosome]Lysosomes[/url][/color], which are exclusive to eukaryotes. Prokaryotes don't have such organelles, and digest their food less efficiently. For small cells this is fine, but for larger cells, having no [color=#3796e1][url=thriveopedia:lysosome]Lysosomes[/url][/color] can be a big disadvantage.

The [color=#3796e1][url=thriveopedia:bindingAgent]Binding Agent[/url][/color] allows your cell and others of its species to build a cell [b]colony[/b] where the cells share the compounds they absorb and produce with each other. While in a colony, you can't enter the editor. To do this, you must leave the colony by pressing the [b]Unbind all[/b] key. Large cell colonies are the way towards [b]Multicellularity[/b], and the end of the Single-Cell Stage.

If you survive for twenty-five generations with 300 population and have placed 10 cells in multicellular, you are considered to have "won" the current game. You can still continue playing as you wish.
