The world is divided into [b]patches[/b]. The area the player's cell inhabits is your [b]current patch[/b].
In your current patch, you must gather [b]compounds[/b] to keep you alive, and grow enough to [b]reproduce[/b]. Once your cell has reproduced, you move millions of years into the future and switch to the [b]Editor[/b].
In the [b]Editor[/b] you can see what happened to all existing species over the millions of years as a result of their biology and your performance in your current patch. You can see which new species [b]evolved[/b], which ones went [b]extinct[/b] and how their total [b]population[/b] counts have changed.
You can change your current patch and move others of your species to another patch in the [b]Patch Map[/b] section of the [b]Editor[/b]. You can also determine how your species evolved by [b]editing[/b] it.
You [b]edit[/b] your species by adding, removing or adjusting parts of your cell, as well as changing the species' behaviour.
When you leave the [b]Editor[/b], you switch to your current patch, and you start the cycle again. The small changes made each turn lead to big changes over the life of the planet.

Du kannst deinen aktuellen Patch ändern und andere Mitglieder deiner Spezies in einen anderen Patch verschieben im [b]Patch-Map[/b]-Bereich des [b]Editors[/b]. Du kannst auch bestimmen, wie sich deine Spezies entwickelt, indem du sie [b]bearbeitest[/b].
Wenn du den [b]Editor[/b] verlässt, wechselst du wieder in deinen aktuellen Patch, und der Zyklus beginnt von vorn. Die kleinen Änderungen, die jede Runde gemacht werden, führen zu großen Veränderungen im Laufe des Lebens des Planeten.
